DRINK IN HK | HONG KONG
What is the dining routine of eaters in Hong Kong, with such advantage of good bars and lounges within and outside of CBD area. The answer is without doubt. 'Just-one-drink'! Every one knows it is impossible to satisfy by just one drink; hope it's not just-one-bottle :P
My favorite drinking area is quite limited within Hong Kong Island or say even smaller, from Wanchai to Central ONLY. Shame on me!!! I should be more open minded and extend my journey to Sheung Wan, Kennedy Town and Causeway Bay at least, but it is not easy to make it for the too-fast changing speed of Hong Kong's Food & Beverage Industry. You find one new-opening restaurant in your neighborhood, and plan to visit it someday, and some day when you pass by, you find it's closed already. A good place for drinks in my mind can be a good restaurant serving alcohol, or a bar/lounge offering purely drinking & talking vibe instead of party!

CASUAL & QUIET NIGHT | BILIBALA YAKITORI BAR | HONG KONG
Get used to the noise and crowd in Central/Soho or TST, sometimes I would look for some quiet and easy-talking places, which are more for normal catching-up with close friends. The backyard of Causeway Bay would be a good choice, which I am introducing here a new open Japanese BBQ & Bar (opened months before), which is a middle-priced but quality place with a combination of Japanese bar and J-style BBQ restaurant.

SMOKEY MEATY | SMOKEY JOE'S | HONG KONG
Eclipse Group has new opening recently in Soho Gourmet area, still in their signature U.S. style, this time what they are playing is Southern American BBQ and craft beers. Having a causal walk in Soho area, you will be so surprised by the fast switching of restos there, and this sharp orange color restaurant is just there, with a complete opening bar design, typical bar/pub design; I love the way to enter into the restaurant directly through the wall area instead of door (is that called 'side-door' ?!)

RESTAURANT WEEK LUNCH | CHICHA | HONG KONG
Sometimes I appreciate Restaurant Week HK a lot as a good induction for me to try some lunch set in the weekdays. The worst part of me is just toooooo lazy while still complaining there's no deadline to clear up my resto-wishing-list. OK, soooo!!! a good reason to try a not-new restaurant in Central and in a good price, good deal :P
Sometimes, the restos are not designed for a sitting-down and serious meal (even not lunch), recently experienced two, and Chicha is one of the two. It is hidden in the Peel Street (a little outside Soho area), so that in the daytime, there's quite few noise. Lone, linen and open-area is the basic dining concept of Chicha; Peruvian is the basic idea behind the Chef and kitchen crew (of course, a special collection of cocktail is available). There are not enough space nor tables indoor, while for a 2-3 persons catching-up drinks & snacks, the space is more than enough, and causally comfortable enough for just friend-friend fun.

AFTERNOON TEA SET | SKY LOUNGE SHERATON HOTEL | HONG KONG
There are a lot of afternoon tea choices in Tsim Sha Tsui, from buffet to hightea set, while having a comfort afternoon tea with a nice bird view of Hong Kong Island, would be not that easy to find or book. A decent and lazy afternoon with everything just easy? I made a try to Sheraton's in Sky Lounge, and the new Afternoon Tea Set for the coming autumn was a bit different by its French-style with oriental elements.

ORGANIC AND RAW HEALTHY | MAYA CAFE MEDITERRANEAN LIFESTYLE | HONG KONG
Maya is a healthy baby growing up with fresh juice, coconut ingredients, organic farm products, coffee beans and wine. The little restaurant is featured in a purely white and blue Mediterranean tone with some colorful exotic decorations. Two intelligent ladies behind this great idea are, actually fashion designer and business-owner, meanwhile they are bringing the Mediterranean cuisine (South France, Italy, Spain) and Indian spices by their knowledge of where they come from.
The restaurant is more like a combination of daytime-cafe and nighttime-bistro, serving a rich collection of light dishes and drinks. Maya runs from the early breakfast till late dinner in the famous but quiet area of Wanchai (Star/Moon Street), and differs largely from the nearby restaurants by their dining concept.

The nightlife in Shanghai is not less colorful than in Hong Kong, but just scattered in the city and you maybe need someone’s suggestion. In general, there are some famous blocks that you could enjoy the nights; the Bund, Huai Hai Road (close to People Square side), Xin Tian Di, French Concession Area, Tian Zi Fang, Jing An area. In the past 3 weeks, I went to some places those I have never been to, and finally get a list to share.

The restaurant has two parts, outdoor terrace and indoor bar & dining place. Even indoor, it is well separated into smoking (bar) and non-smoking (dining) area, while of course, you can have your meal/snacks wherever you prefer. For it's quite popular in expats, the overall culture of this bar & restaurant is international and English-speaking. Classic American cuisine, you won't miss burgers, fries and maybe the yummy potato dishes; but also they have simple pasta to serve, as most of western restaurants do nowadays. What I love is their casual environment for a drink or for a meal, and for sure, the attractive deal in the happy hours.

Went to Pocho, is just a random decision when I was searching some potential bars in Shanghai. The thick wooden door covers the whole bar, which is well located in the quiet Shanghaiese blocks. Magically, since my first visit, I could spend over 3 hours there every time. For what? maybe, their good cocktails and creative and smart bartenders to make you customized drinks always; maybe, the lovely and friendly bar owners to share his love to tequila and willing to tell me a lot professional knowledge about tequila; maybe, the Latin America musics with passion and happiness in the bar all night...

Tanned, Twisted, Tiffin
I'm not princess, but having sweet-tooth, I cannot say No to High-Tea as most of girls. Tiffin Lounge of Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, is quite signature High-Tea spot here. Still remember when I kicked off my food blogging journey, one of the most frequently mentioned and recommended High-Tea is Tiffin, for it's twisted leaf-shape iron plates and gelato buffet counter.

Sweets in Private
Christmas, seems not suitable for who those green immigrants, not mentioned those haven't settled down in the city. When everyone's being with family and old friends, we are hanging out for some quiet and private atmosphere. Finding that Xmas night is unexpectedly 'sleepy', even in Soho.
Walked up to the Elgin Street, here's my second place for the drink that early night. Soiree - a kind of private gathering place for close friends.
