Under the same dining group, Basmati is the sister restaurant, The Clay Oven, close to Kennedy Town (Read previous review). Quite traditional restaurant with a home-cuisine feel, especially we were welcomed by the Indian candies box at the entrance.

Mentioning Indian restaurant, a lot worry about the heavy taste, the garlic and spices of Indian cuisine. Jashan, as the 1st restaurant in Hong Kong to be mentioned by Michelin Guide for Indian Cuisine, the Executive Chef. Anil, is presenting the new Citrus Celebration Summer Menu till the end of August.

The new menu is specialized for hot humid season in Hong Kong, by largely using lime and lemon leaves; instead of garlic-rich curry in such thickness, light sweet curry with coconut ingredients is used for the dishes, through a complicated and time-consuming process (slow-cook).

予人舒適的印度美味

 

得知是印度餐廳的試食邀請，便立刻答應前往。印象中大部份的印度餐廳無論是服務亦或是環境總是有那麼些欠缺的，沒想到這家位於西環的印度餐廳一洗對於印度餐廳的偏見。要大贊的首先便是餐廳親切溫和又周到的服務，以及齊理寬敞的就餐環境，加之每一桌上的粉嫩裝飾，富有印度特色的牆紙和掛畫，散髮著銅色金光的燈飾，都讓人感到舒適與溫暖。

在上海短暫的幾天總要抽個時間跟一班老友食頓飯，大有大聚，小有小聚，那日便是典型的三人幫小聚；地點則是大眾文藝青年以及遊客愛“莆”的上海resort 之一—— 田子坊；

白天去是各路遊客人來人往，在各式小鋪中穿梭，在各式型格生活館中消遣娛樂；我則最喜歡夜幕降臨後的田子坊，幽幽的霓虹燈散出陣陣光暈，行走在猶如迷宮般的石庫門石子小路上，抬頭望見得除了狹窄的夜空之外還有各種霓虹小燈泡串起的燦爛，有些浪漫也有些夢幻；翹著二郎腿斜坐在室外的小圓桌邊，眯著眼透過擺放在桌中央的蠟燭發出的搖曳火光看形形色色的路人，也是個好節目；閒來與對桌的人聊聊天，呷一口再食一口，然後毫無目的的放空眼神望向任何一個方向，這些都是大家與夜晚的田子坊中常做的事。
