CIAO SUNDAY | PIRATA | HONG KONG

Close to Christmas, I was busy but happy with so much spontaneous meals happened in the last few weekends before we were all out for long holiday.
A lazy Sunday morning, embracing the rare bedding time, while the sunshine outside the window and the 'glo-glo' sound in our belly, dragged us out of the bed. Hunger pushed us to think about the evil brunch instead of light & easy breakfast at home; well, without doubt, aiming to try the new brunch spot (at least new for me), I was introduced the Brunch at Pirata. Just next to the door, which sounds perfect ever for laziness like us!

SEAFOOD & PASTA | OSTERIA | HONG KONG

Summer season, paired with seafood inspired summer menu, would be an attractive deal. Osteria by Holiday Inn in Tsim Sha Tsui, keep their monthly refreshing menu and this August, would be the stage of seafood. The seafood promotion menu covers mostly fresh veggies and shell category seafood, like scallops, crab, mussels and lobster, ranged from $300 to $500 around; and of course, presenting by the traditional Italian concept.

3-MINUTE PIZZA | THE POINT | HONG KONG

The Point, is the new opening modern Italian garment stop in Causeway Bay. Just at the corner of Tang Lung Street (A short but delicious eating street famous), it is the new blood - casual and fast Italian dining concept.

3-minute quick pizza is the gimmick of this new restaurant. The stone oven 'fries' the 9-inch pizza in 6 different standard flavors all day long, and personal creation is also welcomed by the Custom Pizza choice. Stone-oven-made pizza is not something very special, but in 3 minutes, would be a quite good point for most of the city people, who's always chasing their time or being chased by the time. It would be a perfect selling-point for a take-way business in my personal opinion, and the price for 9-inch one ranges from $68 to $88 is reasonable. I consider The Point as a good & efficient choice during busy weekdays.

A PLACE DESERVE A RE-VISIT | LINGUINI FINI | HONG KONG

Competition in Hong Kong's restaurant market is quite fierce; just by looking into the soho area, we are not that surprised to see the turn-over speed of new restaurants. At the old Nico's place, now there's the fresh new red brand, Linguini Fini, which is moved from Wellington Street and finishes its renovation. This restaurant keeps high popularity and reputation among locals and expats since its opening by its 100% handmade pasta, modern dining concept lead by their Italian-American chef, and through recent visit, I learnt more ideas about farm-grown except 'just a place to fill up the stomach'.

NOM NOM | NOM | HONG KONG

Foodie knows the key to a perfect bite, always stays with 'a bit' meat, 'a bit' cheese and 'a bit' well-done sauce. Who cares that a lot! Especially you know you will be treated with a rich selection of fine ingredients and a good cooking way. NOM, opened about 4 months ago, is kind of place I described above, and I'm very happy to listen to the Chef's words where I figure out the resto is proud of their qualified selection of imported raw materials (including vegetables) and the way they are making magic with those good ingredients in their secret kitchen.

NIGHT GARDEN IN THE AIR | SHELTER | HONG KONG

Fleed from the noise of shopping area in Hong Kong, you don't need to travel somewhere far. Shelter Group opens their 'garden' in a massive platform on the 7th floor of Hysan Place. It was an ideal place for an after-work drink and a decent Italian dinner. Italian cuisine with G.H.MUMM champagne and featured cocktail is a absolutely their bright color.

PUGLIA CUISINE | GIANNI'S TRATTORIA ITALIANA | HONG KONG

I am looking for the Italian culinary in Hong Kong which is not offering their menu in a 'mass-production' way. To have an Italian night without pizza and spaghetti or linguini, and even not risotto or tortellini, luckily I was introduced to Gianni's Trattoria Italiana - a Puglia-Cuisine-featured restaurant in Soho, Central. The 70's Chef, Gianni, brought the authentic South Italy flavor back to 2013, and Puglia where the Chef is born and grows up, becomes the main cuisine origin of this special Italian restaurant.

APPETIZER, STEAK, DESSERT | BISTECCA ITALIAN STEAK HOUSE | HONG KONG

Raw Stone, Butcher, Countryside, Brown Wooden, those words are the first patch jumping into my brain when stepping into Bistecca (belongs to Dining Concepts. It's nested in the 2nd floor of Lam Kwai Fong, the big dining space is hidden behind one heavy glass & wooden door facing to the narrow lane right before everyone showing up in the lift. Meat (Steak/Beef) and Wine are two main decoration of this slightly raw-style steak house, giving a matched feeling to the causal and relax environment of LKF. I just found that big, outstanding and interesting wall clock, 'QUALITY MEATS'.

Gelato & Italian Breakfast - Nico's

Always rested in Central, I have rare chance to check out so many restaurants just one or two streets away from me. Finally, I start to little journal in SoHo for some space for girls gossip. Fine afternoon, or say late afternoon, narrowly step the last minutes of Weekend Brunch ordering time, we put ourselves nested in Nico's Spuntino Bar + Restaurant, belongs to Staunton's Group.

It's a quite relax place for food, drink and chatting. The barrels aligned along the street and big counter full of color Gelato, are two eye-catching spots for me. If you only want some beers, you can just lazily sit along the bench, facing to SOHO's typical 'busy & noisy' crowds. If you are like me, with some friends, it's better to sit inside, coz they do offer a quite big space for dining atmosphere, and even a mini kids-playground, which can release their 'poor' parents to enjoy a good meal.

Fresh Oyster Matching with Wines - Jack's Terrazza Ristorante

Jack's Terazza Ristorante, delivering the new Fresh Oyster Matching with Wines promotion in its Sai Wan Ho shop. Thank you for the invitation that we, a small pack of food bloggers, enjoyed a relax night there. The promoted oyster mainly from France, Australia, Scotland, and South Africa, price in average around $50, while it's better to choose the matching package that you can easily enjoy the matched white wine/ Sake.

Healthy Lunch in the Air

One shiny and warm weekend of October in 2013, we went to the 29th floor of iSquare in Tsim Sha Tsui, just for a promotion-like price of lunch semi-buffet in Sorriso Italian Cuisine. As the Italian restaurant in TST and enjoying a bird-view of TST Harbour and Hong Kong Island, we even don't mind nothing but the sunny, shiny and brightly luncheon atmosphere!

Wanchai's Sunshine

12.10.13

JACK'S TERRAZZA

31.8.13

Dabyida Restaurant & Bar

27.8.13

GRAPPA'S KIMBERLEY

19.5.13

Home-style Italian 'Inn' | PASTA INN | SHANGHAI

Pasta Inn, a little Italian restaurant opened by a Shanghai family, locates on Si Nan Road. Far way from the noisy Middle Huai Hai Road, to keep quiet. Glass door with metal structure, while curtain cover everything inside. Passenger is rarely recognize this opening eat-in place when passing by it quickly.
