Healthy Lunch in the Air

One shiny and warm weekend of October in 2013, we went to the 29th floor of iSquare in Tsim Sha Tsui, just for a promotion-like price of lunch semi-buffet in Sorriso Italian Cuisine. As the Italian restaurant in TST and enjoying a bird-view of TST Harbour and Hong Kong Island, we even don't mind nothing but the sunny, shiny and brightly luncheon atmosphere!

Step out of the lift, two entrance of two restaurants belonging to the same group. Sorriso is not big but still, keep quite comfortable space between tables, specially mentioning that they assign all the tables along the window, facing to the great view outside. All buffet counters are in the middle, and we are really satisfied by the professional service there.

The lunch menu is offered as semi-buffet, refilled appetizers and desserts with 5 choices of main course served with one coffee / tea. The lunch menu design is inserted with Green Monday and Angel's Natural Diet's Choice concept, for a healthier and greener eating-out experience, while to me, I don't mind that too much.

Appetizers have breads, cold cuts, salad, baked vegetables, cheeses, cold pasta. To me, the most impressive ones are cheeses and breads. Really love those semi-moisture breads tastes a little "mold", don't be afraid, I mean natural sour :)  And the lovely cheeses, soft and hard, liquid and heavily tasty.

Coming to the main course part, the core healthy dining concept dish must be on the list, for sure, we won't miss Italian pizza in an Italian cuisine; last dish? my lovely friends just spoiled me to make me decision-maker.
  • Risotto, Beetroot, Gorgonzola, and Herbs Salad (Green Monday & Angel's Natural Diet Choice)

Nice presentation with beautiful rose pink, easy combination of beetroot and risotto dressed with salad. The spirit of the taste comes from Gorgonzola. This Italian blue cheese has a strong salty taste, well mixed with risotto to make the whole dish milky and silky. However, apart from the cheese part, I won't recommend any more, coz I don't think the beetroot is well handled to make a balance taste and the risotto is not al dente.
  • Pizza, Bacon, Mushroom, Onion, Capsicum, and Mozzarella

Good pizza, with my appreciation on the crispy and thin dough, let me experience a magical fragrance of baking. The ingredients are nothing special, even it don't have too much mozzarella on the top, while everything seems to be together-together naturally, so that you will have a comfortable, relax and casual eating experience.
  • Home Made Pappardelle, French Chicken, Anchovy, Green Olive, Capers and Tomato

Again, I guess the chef takes too much care of local clients tasting preference... even the Pappardelle is slightly thick and has a little feeling of "made by flour", it is not chewy and too soft. Plus be dressed up with too much sauce, I cannot taste the "art" of pasta. But besides this part, the chicken and the greens perform not bad. Did it have so many ingredients as the dish name compared to my picture?! 0-0

Dessert counter, is "first-eye beauty" in Chinese. Why? coz when you pass it, you will feel so excited for its huge and long coverage, full of those cute sweets; while when you are seriously picking up sweets, you will find it's just covered repeatedly by 4-5 pudding or jelly cups and some cakes which are not impressive.

Cup sweets, are famous here and those Italian Milk Pudding with different flavors (blueberry, chocolate, mango, lychee) and Coconut Milk Jelly, are in high quality. Thick but not heavy texture, balanced taste decorated with different flavors, not too sweet but having a strong milk taste, lovely ones!

As to the cakes & pies sector, I'm a little disappointed for its not normal looking and plain taste, even the signature cheese cake, is not a good example to comment. The only one I want to highlight, is Almond Pear Pie, tastes fresh and... not bad.
