SOMETHING TO BE RECALLED | HK FOOD EXPO 2014 | HONG KONG

If you have already had several rounds to this year's Food Expo, you must have the same feeling as me, that this year is a little bit different. Gourmet Zone, of course, is where I mean 'different'. I remember in the last few years, this zone has really limited space with a big crowd, while this year, it almost occupies the half hall, which means more space, better atmosphere, and more new entries. 

It is a shame, that I have no time to explore around this year's Food Expo for my personal issues, but I am so happy to join the press crew two times to be present to the Press Conference, and the first night of Expo. If you have read my last blog, you will have some ideas about this year's Gourmet Zone, while I have to list a few more, coz they are really impressive and this list might be useful for you.

HK FOOD EXPO 2014 PRESS CONFERENCE | HONG KONG

Coming to Hong Kong for almost 3 years, I never miss this yearly even in town, which matters a lot to each eaters, every smart housewife, and maybe every Hongkonger. Food Expo 2014 starts on 14th August in next week, and 10 days before, I was glad to be invited to the press conference. There are quite a lot suppliers from Food & Beverage industry, and also a lot others from tea post, kitchen equipment, furniture which to me, maybe less interesting.

Informal Media Gathering at La Cantoche

Didn't expect could visit La Cantoche, this nice and chic French restaurant again so soon. Second time to come, I become more familiar to go straight into the little dark lane; cute server & bartender still welcome everyone by his warm smile. This time, we gonna spent our relax night time with rose and red/white wine with new friends and PR friends at this informal media gathering. 

CALIFORNIA WINE TASTING | HONG KONG

Early December, seems quite alcoholic for me, even not dine-out or hang-out with friends, blogger event invitation has something to do with wines! The 3rd day of 'Holiday' month, went to California Wine Tasting & Charity Event in Conrad Hong Kong.  

Blogger 盛會【怡東軒】

原來自己加入Openrice已經要一年有餘，雖然對於更新這檔子事總有些疲軟，但至少每一篇博文都會認認真真逐字逐句的琢磨，剛從上海回到香港，便收到Openrice編輯的新年飯局邀請函；果然這日來到怡東軒，碩大的包廂加之裏面熱鬧的氣氛，簡直就是Blogger的盛會了！今次的新春飯局在環境典雅，古色古香的怡東軒內，然而眼前這份PR資料卻讓人有小驚喜，新派粵菜crossover西洋葡萄酒（Mark&Spencer sponsor）有新意也有心意。

Chinese-flavor in Memory【Regal Hongkong Hotel】

Dont think that I am a pure and boring food blogger, just keep searching food and writing. Actually a lot of food bloggers are spending their day and night spare time on blogs, when they are off-work/ on the way/ or whatever engaged by some issues. It's not an easy work, right?

Compared with them, I'm already very relax. You may guess, as a master student (just graduate), except being a lib-girl, and food-lover, what other roles I'm playing?

Well, that's one part, a good-heart girl, passionate with community service delivery and, related social activities. Here again, sharing the latest luncheon activity as a guest there. Again Regal Hotel.

Although this is a post for in-hotel restaurant review, I'm so glad to share with you, I and my team member, two girls, just successfully raise $4,000 funding for our community service project. So kindly these successful businessmen and businesswomen, full of society responsibility.

K-Buffet for Xmas Party 【CEO】

聖誕節雖然只有一天，但其實有關聖誕節的活動是可以持續整整一個月的！又是一個臨近聖誕節的週末，這晚的活動選在糖街的CEO（Neway高級版）。十多個人的K歌房還算寬敞，足夠一群人開party玩遊戲，晚上還有環球美食自助餐、奉送的薯片以及生果，每人也包有兩杯非酒精類飲品，唱足晚足四個多鐘，要價250左右，也算是物有所值的，只可惜Neway的database適中不適合我。。。沒歌唱，當然只能。。。吃啦！

Christmas is only one day festival, while we could have parties in the whole December, even early in November. Another happy weekend coming, this time we choose CEO in Sugar Street as our Xmas Party site. The K-room for around 10ps is big enough and comfortable with an inside washing room. The space could afford us to play Xmas special games. That night, we have K-buffet, chips& fruits, and each one could order two non-alcohol drinks; totally costs $250 per person, should be reasonable. Unfortunately, I could not find my songs in Neway's database, so the only thing I could do and do well is... EAT!

Early Xmas Party with dear Frs 【Rosedale Hotel@Skyzone】

聖誕節跟著這個週末的步伐而來，卻給人一種姍姍來遲的感覺，為何？全“怪”聖誕氣息來的太早太早。早在這個月初就已經開始第一場聖誕party，非常感謝對我與同我背景相似的學生們多番照顧的Dr.Chin。

Xmas is following this weekend, but do you have a feeling that this Xmas is coming too SLOW? The Xmas commercial promotion is coming earlier year by year and, my first Xmas party was in early December this year, invited by my dear teacher, Dr. Eric.

馬拉松后的慶功會【富豪軒】

週日8-9時艱辛的一個鐘過去之後便是大家補回元氣的良機，拖著有些黏黏地的雙腿來到沙田運動場附近的Regal Riverside Hotel，我們這一群沒財力只有體力的小鬼又沾上Club 裡的長輩們的光，上了Hotel 2F的富豪軒，吃一頓開開心心放放鬆鬆的“賽後慶功飯”，來到大堂，感覺到底是去到新界區，甚為寬闊一點不逼，室內裝修不似銅鑼灣的Regal 那般金碧輝煌，反倒多了份中國風的暗紅色風雅，最佳的要屬市區內不太見得到的窗外綠意，中午時分對著窗外的連綿綠色以及波光閃閃的湖面，飲口茶吃個點心，絕對是週末家庭聚會或是朋友相聚的好地方。

I'm traveling top-side-down in Regal【Regal Hong Kong Hotel】

最近有些忙的亂七八糟找不到頭緒，即使有預先定好的行程表，還是沒辦法乖乖的按照行程裱上的安排來“按部就班”，總是一下子靈感湧現，改變每日安排。上周末的10K圓滿結束之後，與一班長輩、前輩、同輩、後輩在附近的Regal Riverside Hotel 簡單開了個“賽”后慶功大會！簡單食了些點心，也算補回不少元氣；去到這個禮拜，背著我的兩個金燦燦獎盃又來到Regal，不過這次是我常常來頻繁來的銅鑼灣富豪，在底下會議廳、Ball Room、三樓的富豪金殿以及33F的意大利餐廳Zeffirino；會議時間不長，在G2的小會議廳中進行，是日安排的午餐則是Lunch Set

Let's play with Chocolate & Wine【La Fete Du Chocolat】

這日收到La Fete Du Chocolate 發出的Happy Hour Party 邀請，于銅鑼灣Charterhouse Hotel 1F的 Harry's Bar 舉辦此品牌與另一法國朱古力酒品牌的小型聚會。朱古力與美酒的組合不是空穴來風， 甜蜜的朱古力與紅白酒的香醇本就有互補的效果，酒心朱古力便是酒與朱古力的經典組合形式，這日當然不是為的酒心朱古力。

La Fete Du Chocolat 代理 Belgian Hand-made Chocolate 目前為止算是這個比利時品牌于香港地區的獨家代理商，從運輸到推廣銷售一手包辦；品牌暫時未設有零售門店，只接受網上訂貨以及定期舉辦的朱古力主題派對，那日亦可買到各種不同口味朱古力的禮盒包裝。

VinoCacao HK 則是當晚的另一主辦方，帶來擁有1St Prize at Chocolate Show of Vannes 以及 1St Prize at MOF Chocolatier 頭銜的法國朱古力酒品牌 VinoCacao，結合了波爾多葡萄酒與朱古力的美味，另有兩款普通葡萄酒，以法國女郎為瓶身設計圖案，充滿法式風情。

中華之味【富豪金殿】

好久之前應教授邀請出席盛大的地區會議，當晚絕對可用“隆重盛大”來形容，地點則是位於富豪香港酒店三樓的富豪金殿；富豪金殿是典型的中式餐廳，既然取名金殿，必以金色應題，宴會廳占去整個三樓層面，與位於正中的金色Lift 抵達步出便是猶如不如皇宮一般的門洞，宴會廳呈環形，但基本後部空間都預留給廚房以及雜物房，頗有“後臺”的感覺，所以個人認為將宴會廳的空間形容成L型則更為貼切些；如此L型的轉角處就必然成為整個宴會廳的焦點，落地玻璃窗當晚被米白色帶金屬拉絲的厚質窗簾覆蓋看不到銅鑼灣的夜景，頭頂則是金燦燦到晃眼的水晶吊燈，華麗十分，角落里則是酒店餐廳特意搭出來的舞臺供當晚的各項安排，L型的兩頭均佈置有投影幕布，無論是坐在宴會廳中間亦或是兩頭都不用擔心視覺上的遮擋，不會錯過臺上的精彩瞬間；

當晚所有賓客結實盛裝出席，端莊華麗，餐廳的侍應也以一襲標準黑色套裝示人，絕不失禮於人，且大多都是中青年級的“資深”侍應，一舉一動細心周到，唯有到了後半局的時候，收碟上菜等等有些淩亂與匆忙，讓人感到少少局促而已，但整體都不錯。

Mid-autumn Dinner Party【富豪香港酒店宴會廳】

有幸收到老師的中秋宴會邀請能夠作為老師的Guest 可以出席這一次在香港富豪酒店宴會宴會廳中舉辦的中秋Party！甚為Rotaract Club 的一份子將近一年，參加過的Volunteer 工作與活動大大小小不能算多，但也在人生閱歷中的志願者/社會工作者一頁添上不少的筆墨；對於我這個“外來人”，這樣的經歷更是難得的珍貴。老師也特別照顧我們這些身在他鄉的年輕人，適逢今年中秋，常規的中秋Party 也不忘邀上我們以給我們家的溫暖；同桌的大多都是爸爸輩，甚至伯伯爺爺輩的事業型人士，大家彼此之間起初也因不熟而小有尷尬，但不消多少時間，便已聊得火熱；正常宴會也不僅僅是【飯局】那麼簡單，多謝各位組織人士的精心安排，整場宴會中歡聲笑語不斷，各種趣味遊戲，中秋猜謎，花燈拍賣，每一環節都“激動人心”，特別是在每一環節的抽獎結果宣佈前幾秒，大家齊齊屏息，好似整個宴會廳上方的時空都凝固了一般；相信無論是如我這般的不諳世事的後生仔還是平日裡忙裡忙出的長輩們，在那晚都玩的很投入很開心吧！
