Burger fever keeps on going in Hong Kong within a list of Best Burger Names in town. It seems that an individual running burger shops has much wider fame in the public, compared to those higher-standard hotel restaurants or western restaurants. Burgerman, is another successful case which comes out from the hidden area in Kowloon.
Before going into details, I hereby give a pre-reading impression. It's comparable cheap with a normal standard of quality which is just matched to the price. Very welcome and nice shop for the local neighbors and expats as well.
We were visiting Burgerman around Xmas period when the shop is decorated fully by Xmas stuff. With a big NYC background wall, and some little snowflakes, it really brings a feeling of USA. The shop we visited is Burgerman 2 (Tai Kok Tsui), which is very small and more for take-away.
Crispy U.S.A Sweet Potato Fries $30
Big surprise to me, and my favorite among all the items of Burgerman even :)
Finger-thin potato fries, very dry and solid but not oily; in a lovely orange color and taste naturally sweet.
Golden Mozzarella Sticks $28/4 pcs
Compared to other cheese sticks I have tried, they were not good enough fairly; what I could assume the reason for it, is the cost of Mozzarella.
Crispy Pineapple Chicken Cheese Burger $60
We had tried two burger sets (including fries). Both of them were using normal breads with just a bit more butter-shiny looking. The taste from bread to the burger meat (chicken / beef), cheddar cheese, foie gras, were not that high-standard making, which I won't comment too much, because they were really priced at a comfort level which everyone could accept it easily.
I like the grilled juicy pineapple of the burger, and the mixed 'devil' taste of signature burger, Crispy Foie Gras Beef Burger, which was really impressive as its awesome looking of thick foie gras on the top of beef burger, with a slice of sour & sweet source hidden behind the heavy-taste melted cheese, it's double devil. The only I want to mention is, foie gras was handled in a quiet greasy way, which is better to be shared for girls :D
Cajun, Buffalo or BBQ Chicken Wings $38 / 5pcs
Shrimp Carbonara $68
Except burgers and chips, they also offer some normal pasta, salad and snacks.
