TASTE THAI RESTAURANT AND PUB | HONG KONG


It is such a happy night to celebrate with my blogger friends' birthday. I am always feeling blessing that a group of eaters around me in Hong Kong, so that we can feel free to pursue the good food, good drink and good life together. 

That night we have a recommended restaurant in Wanchai, hidden upstairs in the busy lane of Wanchai market. Taste Thai has run for years and enjoy its fame of neighbor-restaurant to the fellow. It features a rich collection of Northeast Thai cuisine, which uses a lot lime, pepper and lemongrass as dressing ingredients, and they have very good salads



Thai Chicken Feet Salad 

We have Green Papaya Salad, Thai Chicken Feet Salad (without bones), and Shrimp Salad with Bitter Melon. As starters, they are not only inspiring our tongue and stomach, but also open our eyes. All the fresh tomatoes, spring onions, bitter melon and green papaya are deeply soaked in the sauce; you have the extremely juicy and crunchy bites. You are being challenged by the Thai spicy hot but the sweet and sour sauce won't make you in the fire. The chicken feet salad is one of my favorite dishes that night. I really enjoy chewing the chicken feet which are deeply sauteed and have a super firmed texture.

Thai Platter

Thai spring roll, fish cake, shrimp cake and fried chicken wing, are perfectly fried to be shiny golden. Dip the sweet sauce or sour spicy sauce, you won't get too much greasy feeling. 

Thai Roasted Chicken

We never-ever imagine such a delicious roasted chicken! Even as the first look on it, the perfectly golden and greasy chicken skin, having some dark parts which is slightly over roasted, and some parts crystal and transparent; the pink chicken attached directly to the skin with a super smooth and flat looking; the whole dish has only chicken legs or wings; we know it won't disappoint us at once. And it turns out to be the same as our expectation; well done roasted chicken with a prefect softness, grease, flavor.

Deep Fried Fish with Green Mango Slices

From the land to the river, we have a dish of deep fried fish with a super crunchy texture. The sauce, or say soup is put into a separated bowl; the rich flavor comes from the rich combination of peanut, onion, lemongrass, pepper, garlic, and all special Thai seasoning. Having a spoon of fish and some green mango slices with the soup, the crispy fish is mildly melted by the soup as a rich flavor spreading throughout your mouth.


I have heart the restaurant is always full during lunch time, but in fact, even during the peak dinner time it is fully seated. The owner and staff are nice and close to the clients so that I guess they are doing business with neighbors, and offering a reasonable pricing menu.
