It is my first time to be invited to Macau, and to try out the accommodation & restaurants in the hotel. From a normal traveler, just seeking a relax weekend without casino stuff in Macau, I guess most of people want to have a clean & simple, not-too-luxury hotel with good location and reasonable price; and METROPOLE HOTEL would be a good candidate. It is just 5-10 mins walk to the center area of Macau; those famous old/new casinos are just two streets away; opposite the hotel, it is the famous Macau-Portuguese restaurant, Solmar (莎莉文餐廳); and the most important, you can have a causal walk in the backside area of the hotel and explore quiet neighborhoods of old Macau.

第一次受邀來到澳門，體驗澳門酒店與餐廳的食宿，對我來說既新鮮又興奮。相信大部份從香港出發去到澳門的人，若不是單純為了賭一把，都只是想要一個簡單輕鬆的週末假期；這次入住的酒店定位比較大眾化，屬於青年精品酒店的範疇，乾淨、寬敞、明亮是我的第一印象，相當不錯的地理位置，無論是去到市中心的旅遊景點或是臨近的新舊賭場都是5到10分鐘的步行距離而已，酒店對街便是著名的澳門葡國餐廳，沙利文；酒店的背面是極具澳門地方特色的老巷子，縱橫交錯的巷子里滿是歷史猶存的特色建築，在其中放慢腳步，偶爾“窺探”一下普通澳門人家的生活，也是一種放鬆心情的方式。

During two-day stay in the hotel, we have a short visit to the different hotel rooms, from the standard 'Trendy' twin to the very interesting Chinese/European duplex suite and each room is different from each other. The hotel just finished its 'revolution' in 1 year with a foot-to-head reconstruction, and even the interior structure is re-designed to fit the new direction of hotel, "Youth & Trendy". The hotel is really "Chinese", especially those just-one-piece decoration around every corners.

STANDARD TRENDY TWIN ROOM

It's the basic room they have, quite big room, considering the space limitation of Macau u & Hong Kong general condition. Very simple but bright design, and offering an open view to the streets. The highlight of room is undoubtedly, the wall behind the beds. Each standard romm will have the similar decoration wall with totally different items. 

The beds which to most of people are really key to a good trip, are really good! Good height, good mattress to support your back while sleeping. Regarding to the bathroom, it's just shower facility but more than enough to a normal trip. And to me, in the early morning when I wake up, I can organize myself and work on my blog a little bit on the bed with a big bowl of fresh sweet fruits, is sooooo nice :)

CHINESE DUPLEX SUITE

This is my favorite room of METROPOLE. Duplex room includes a big living area and a more private bedroom space upstairs. The carpet is with plum tree branches is well matched to Chinese style. The whole room is in dard red and white, and plus a warm color from the lights, offering a typical Chinese warm feeling. Going up by the stairs, the beautiful lantern lights and bronze decoration wall behind TV in the living area would be so nice. In the bedroom, there are twin beds and one bathroom.

EUROPEAN DUPLEX SUITE

European one is more Mediterranean style, especially you find the Egypt theme decoration wall when you step into the suite. The overall feeling is quite soft and relax and different from Chinese one, there is a queen bed in the second floor.

PUBLIC AREA

The hotel is not big, so there are only reception area connected with a small resting area on the ground floor. The wooden screen (now as decoration) is one of the hotel's collections. Door card is also used for lift as most of other hotels nowadays, and you will always find those welcomed and helpful staff in the lanes of your floor. If you are really interested in the Chinese handcrafts or china pots, hanging around in the different floors of this hotel, you would find some interesting collections very easily.
