LITTLE BURRO & NICEPOPS | HONG KONG

The Triple Threat $125

If you are American & Mexico Food fan, you must be familiar with this little cute burro icon in Hong Kong. Little Burro, firstly opens in Causeway Bay, and recently has their second (bigger) restaurant in Sheung Wan. Little Burro, probably is the only Mission-Burrito restaurant in Hong Kong; Mission-Burrito originates from Mexico burrito but innovated in Mission around 60s by adding Spanish rice and salsa. Mission Burrito became super popular in U.S. as a good lunch choice by its big-stomach size.

Little Burro's traditional Burrito is made of Tortilla, Spanish rice, fresh lettuce, cheese, sour cream, meat, beans and salsa as traditional way.

New Sheung Wan restaurant has more seating space to CWB's, and I like the simple but street-chic design of the whole restaurant. Just as the cute logo, a little playful. Everything inside is just colorful and warm, like some green and red bowls for tacos, and always warm-yellow light, making the restaurant the little bulb in the quiet route to Tai Ping Shan Street.

On the regular menu, it offers 4 simple steps for a meal,

Step 1 - Choose Burrito / Rice Bowl / Tacos / Salad
Step 2 - Choose Pork / Chicken / Vegetarian / Beef
Step 3 - Choose Beans and Rices
Step 4 - Choose Salsa (Pico de Gallo / Corn Green Chili / Salsa Verde)

Wrapper's Delight $100

On the new Summer Menu, Menu Hack, two new burritos are definitely 'can-not-miss'. The Triple Threat ($125) is defined as XXL burrito. You can choose three meats (while so far as the regular menu, that means you will have all meat fillings at once time) and two salsa. It has large potion of rice and meats, while don't worry, it also contains a lot of fresh lettuce. The only thing to worry about is over-full.

Wrapper's Delight ($100), is slightly small, but when I saw its inside layers, I was sure this one would full my stomach faster. It has 3 more layers of wrapper tortilla, and one of them is spinach tortilla. Between the lettuce is a thick layer of cheese, which is semi-melted. The rice potion is reduced and gives the space for healthier ingredients, lettuce, tomato, sweet corn and beans. The layers taste extremely moisture and soft, which tortillas-carver won't let it go.

Tortilla Chips with Salsa (Avocado or Tomato)

El Nachisomo $100

Tortilla chips in red, yellow and purple, are perfectly covered by melted cheese, selected meat, salsa and sour cream. The dish is better to be taken once on the table to avoid the super hot melting cheese takes away the crispy texture of chips. It is such an evil mixture of different sauces in different textures; the melting cheese just starts to become thicker and sticker, while the sour cream and salsa still gives out its freshness and tomato juice. The sliced chicken/beef on the top, actually, is marinated by Salsa Verde; this dish just doesn't want your tongue to relax :P

Double Dragon $60

Another game with tortilla on traditional Taco with a double tortilla in the soft-flour taste and crispy corn texture. However, the whole Taco had too much focus on the fillings, which weighted the double tortillas, I didn't enjoy a lot by the supposed double-tasting experience.

The Dilla $75

'The Dilla' is another way to have Taco. The steamed tortillas are soft on one side and slightly crispy on the other side. The meat, beans and vegetables are melted together with the 'glue', cheese. One bite of it made my mouth cheesy and creamy.

I have sweet teeth but also spicy tongue. The two Mexican Hot Chili Sauces are both my favorite.

No dessert, No happy ending and satisfaction? In Sheung Wan restaurant, there is one ice stick fridge from Nicepops HK, which offers a line of fresh-made ice sticks. Nicepops, is quite street-art-design. It is an interesting solid-way of fresh juice and cocktail. 100% organic sugars, 100% handmade, 100% natural...

Berry Kiwi Balsamic $45

Sweetening by organic cane sugar, Souring by fresh fruits; one bite I had half berry in my mouth and half still in the ice stick.

Jonny Drum's Orange Old Fashioned $55

4% alcohol is perfect for a cocktail stick in such a summer way.

Special remind to Grava Picante Con Lime ($45), we were told by the reaction from a girl chose this flavor, it is supppppper spicy hot.

* Average $75 per head if choose the regular dish, and there is no service charge.
