Seeing this symbol, you will know it's Papenburg of Germany. A famous city of large shipyard in Germany, and I was traveled to the little town near Papenburg the other day with my friends. Even it is just a quiet, more countryside town, you still can find shipping culture everywhere, while it won't look like that manufacturing or industrial, on the opposite, I figured out it as a more family holiday town for local Germans which were sharing the same nice afternoon at that wonderful day.
The big old ship for old-time maritime business is now a live museum and town-face now for this lovely town. It was free for a visit as my memory, and actually there was nothing to see, just experienced the structure and looking of this kind of old 'vessel' and probably took some photos :)
It was my second time to visit Windmill, and this one was a bit different from my first experience. Last time I was alone in Leiden, Netherlands where I learnt a lot Windmill culture in a very technical way (really like a science museum!!); well, this time it was more fun-visiting with my friend. We climbed a lot and played a lot with those fake grain bags and real ropes going from the top of Windmill till the ground floor. We stopped at the middle level and went out for a town view, meanwhile 'practice' as a Windmill-man, trying to closing the huge fan of Windmill which is one of the power suppliers as the interesting mechanism. It would be a great and educational place for kids with their parents, to see, to explore and to learn something fading out in modern life.
It was not a great-great day and even when the time was close to the late afternoon (actually already night time as Asian's time clock), it was quite chili. What I enjoyed a lot was just a clean view of this quiet town when most of tourists were leaving for home.
Going back to the early afternoon, we were having a causal walk throughout the town which was quite small. It was a water-town, which has a lovely quiet canal. Different styles of foot-bridge are connected both sides, and along the streets, there was a line of easy-shops and cafes. Most of cafes were serving in German/Vienna (Vien) style and the most beautiful view was those relaxing people sitting outside the cafes (elders seated and chatting, kids running and playing around).
What a wonderful day!
